Hold onto those special moments leading up to the birth of your beautiful baby with a timeless maternity photo-shoot with EJM photography.

Maternity shoots are a unique way to cherish those beginning memories for life, while I capture the beauty of your pregnancy and enhance this special time. Pregnancy is such an exciting time and later on in life, you might forget what it felt like to be expecting. Together we can make a permanent momentum of those emotions so you can look back on them for years to come.

I aim to make my maternity shoots as relaxing and effortless as possible, directing each and every shot so you don’t have to worry about what to do next. I love getting partners and husbands involved in maternity shoots – think of the images as your first family portrait! The shoots can be done both indoors at my studio and outdoors for a sunset setting (my personal favourite). If you have other children, I would love to include them in the images too. The idea of a new baby may be daunting and scary for some children, and I think it’s great to let them join in on the fun so they can feel special too.

I would recommend booking your maternity photography session is early in your pregnancy, allowing you to ideally secure a session some time following your 30-week mark. This later stage of pregnancy is the best time to photograph to achieve those perfect bump shots, however it is entirely dependent on how you feel and when you are most comfortable.

To bring maternity photography to a fresh new level, I have stocked the studio with a bunch of different maternity dresses to suit every taste and style. Of course, if you have a specific outfit you were hoping to wear, you are more than welcome to do so. I want you to feel beautiful, empowered and radiant – and I understand that sometimes you just need a special, personal touch!

Quite often, I see and hear of women being hesitant to book in for maternity photo-shoots because they aren’t happy with the way they look. This is totally understandable and something I can empathise with myself, as pregnancy is such a huge change for both the female body and mind. Some women feel as though they are too “large”, too puffy, not sexy enough or as though they have too many stretch marks. While I totally believe in enhancing natural beauty and embracing who we are and what we have, I can CERTAINLY work with you to create the end result you are hoping for. I can make touch-ups or edits as necessary, and I can get rid of any spots you want to remain hidden.

Maternity shoots can be done quite quickly, and usually last around 40 minutes. There is more than enough time for you to take a break if need be, or move around to stay comfy and relaxed. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, maternity shoots can also be used as a fun way to reveal your baby’s gender (if this is something you want to share). Your options are endless and I always have a few tricks and ideas up my sleeve to make sure each photo-shoot is special and exciting in its own way.
