My name is Emma and I am the proud owner of EJM Newborn Photography Melbourne. My business is family focused and designed to provide clients with superior photography that is high-quality, timeless and unique. I specialise in newborn, maternity and a range of baby and family photography and have been working with local families for years. I have an in home studio in Point Cook where all newborn photography are created within a comfortable environment (for both parents and bubs!), and are usually completed within 2 or so hours.
Given the unpredictable nature of pregnancy, labour and birth, I thought it would be helpful to provide a little information surrounding the general booking process of EJM Newborn Photography to help you plan ahead of time to ensure you don’t miss out.
When you get in touch with me and book in your shoot, together we will work out a day and time to book in. If it is a newborn shoot I will add your booking to my calendar for the month you are due to give birth. Once your baby has been born, I ask that you contact me as soon as possible to schedule a time and day to visit the studio. Newborn photography shoots generally take place within 12 days of your baby being born, and I usually find that a mid-morning (10am) timeframe works best in terms of bub being settled and comfortable. If you are having a Caesarean birth, we can plan your session in advance according to your scheduled date of admission.
Once you arrive, we will first make sure your baby is comfortable. I will wrap your baby up so they are snug and warm, which also helps them to feel settled and secure. Trust me when I say I have converted many parents who thought they had a baby who hated being swaddled! If your baby has a dummy, I ask that you bring it along so we can keep it handy. If your baby feeds on formula, please also bring a spare supply in case they become hungry or unsettled during the session. My main goal within a photography session is for everyone to feel relaxed and to enjoy the experience as much as possible, so feel free to feed your baby and tend to them as much as you like! The comfort and needs of your baby will always lead the session. During your photoshoot we will take a rang of images that includes the whole family. What your whole family includes is completely up to you. You can bring along siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and don’t forget the fur baby!
Your shoot will generally be wrapped up within 2 hours. After a short break we will then go into your viewing and design session – the fun part! Here we will look at all those gorgeous images I captured, going through them slowly for you to choose the ones you love. You will then decide how it is you would like to display you photos and what you would like to purchase. The studio is full of samples for you to feel and touch to help you decide.
The images you choose will then be professionally edited. Your products and wall art will be ordered, for each product you purchase you get the high resolution digital file too. Your full order will be ready for pick up in a maximum time of 6 weeks.
